It is a Wednesday today. Not many things happen these days 'round here. Not since I first came into my.........truth. THere are a lot of things that i would rather not share in my own thoughts. So today, i am taking the day of High School, and running free for a time. I might just take the time to start a wood working project, that always clears my head. Might start a tree fort, or even a house for the neighbors. They lost the home to a fire recently, and that is underinvestigation. Also there are a lot of things under investigation. I recently came to my truth after a vegetarian passed through the town, and it was on test day too. That was really different for me. Anyway, the same scent still lingers on the wind.....Their scent.....
Well, I am going to investigate the scene again. this time though, i am going in as a full lion, yes, that would do the trick, just hope i do not scare anyone.
~End first person narritive~
Jason was on all fours, ready to shift, when his sensitive nose caught a wiff of his dinner. So he tramps of the "investigte" the contents fo his plate. On his way home, he catches another smell, and familiar one, and it was very distant. He ignored it of course, as he is still a growing boy, and could use that dinner he detected ealier.
~one hour, and a good number of plates later~
Jason was well feed, and ready to take on anything, when he caught the same smell on the wind again, this time stonger. He decided to check out the origin to that scent. So he shifts into his animal form. He then appears as a bipedal lion that stands to be around 8 and a half feet tall, heavily built, close to resempling the body builders on drugs, and pure white. The dusk sun danced upon the fur coating his body, and glimmers in his eyes. His eyes are the color of the purest water, the kind only found in dreams. He sets of to find the scent that he can only smell, as the breeze brushes past his nose, as a cherry petal hovering in the crisp spring air........

Amara was aimlessly wondering through the woods, as was normal for her. The breeze blowing through the trees brought a myriad of smells to her nose, none of which she could distinguish from each other. There were far too many to determine what was what, or who was who. She was always on her guard anyway, so it didn't matter if she could smell what was around her.
The walk had not begun as a stroll through the woods, but that is where it had taken her. She often grew tired of traveling the streets, where she was forced to mingle with humans and pretend to be one. She was anything but human, and she was proud of it. It hadn't always been that way. She had learned to embrace what she was, and things had gone much smoother since.
Amara sighed, leaning her shoulder against a tall tree for a rest, not that she needed one. She had an almost limitless amount of stamina, but sometimes it felt good to just stop and look around. She closed her eyes, leaving her other senses to work in place of her sight.

Jason felt a presence. It reminded him a time long since passed into the dreams of the elderly. He also finally put a person to the smell, or a creature. It was the same smell that lingered after a person was found completly dried of blood. He did not know if this was the perpatrater, but had a feeling, it was not going to be easy to talk to.
Jason began to sprint in the general direction of the smell, and finding that it was stationary. as the scent only go stronger, and the wind what no heavier than before. As he drew closer to the scent, a though paused is passing, and he began to take a defensive posture, there were more than one of them in the area. He went into full beast mode, as he called it. This is when he stops all human thought, and only uses insticnt. All things around took a different hue in his eyes.........red. It was the red of a rage, or of pain. At the moment, it was both. In this state, he identified one as female, and there were two others, both male, although one had a funny texture to the scent, more...........feline than anything else.
He returned to his normal human form, so that they do not see him as a threat, he stepped into a glad where he saw the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. In his eyes, she was sculpted from the most magnificent moon beams than could be harvested in dreams, and her blond hair was more akin to a golden waterfall cascading down he back, only to stop and vanish brilliantly into curls of spun sunlight. He was entraced, but remembered that she could be dangerous to him, as well as the other two creatures near by, as their smell began to mingle with the fresh scent of blood............

Amara's features froze. She could feel someone watching her. She turned her face toward the feeling, eyes flashing open. She searched the shadows for the object of the feeling...but whoever it was was out of sight.
Her pupils widened as a smell that she could never misplace reached her nostrils. Blood. A smile twitched her lips as her instincts took over, bringing her into a slight crouch. Her fangs stuck out just a bit over her bottom lip as she began to stalk her prey.

"Whoa! I am not the bad guy here!! I am unarmed!!," Jason yelped in respose to the girl's crouch, and change in demeanor,"I am just here...........hiking! Yeah that is what i am doing." Jason had no idea just what was going on, but, his instincts were never wrong, and he was not going to trust this girl until he was utterly certain of her motives, and in order to do that, he might have to subdue her. But there are the other people that smell similar to her. Jason made a snap decision. He was going to shift. If she knew what he was, then he could reason with her, if not, then he might be able to intimidate her. As he began to shift, he decided to add a little flair. So he did a back flip. and completed the shift midair. He land on all fours, and then stood up and struck a pose he thought looked coolish. Is was all he could manage to look serious after than whole thing.
After the shift, he definatly smelled the blood, and knew that he was in trouble. He finally understood what the girl was, and from then on, could identify any vampire that was up wind to him. And he was truely quite wary of the girl now. He could no have her hunting on his territory, but he also needed an ally if things esclate with the other two vampires. So he made the worst decision of his life in that single moment, he was going go after the male vampires.
His only hope was that this girl, who ever she was, would help him.....................

Amara narrowed her gaze. "A shifter." She murmered to herself. She didn't stand from her defensive pose. She perceived his shift as a threat, deeming that there was no other reason for him to have changed into a fierce animal in front of her. The fact that he had lied about being a hiker only furthered this proof. He was obviously much younger than her because of all the unnecessary movements he added to his shift...all of it was unneeded and a waste of energy. The fact that he had done so proved his inexperience. If he hoped to fight her, she would win, of that she was sure.
Amara's leg muscles tensed and she bared her fangs. "Who are you really and what do you want?" She demanded, not relenting any ground. She had not had much dealings with shifters, therefore didn't know if they were friend or foe. She was determined to find out, and deal with this one accordingly.

"I am who I said I was. And i am sure you have already noticed that there are two other vampires in the woods nearby. I would rather not engage in conflict with you, because I am the only defender in these parts. The last fight with a vampire I got into was with a newborn, and definatly not experienced enough to take on someone with a stance like yours." Jason stated serenly. And in a human voice. This was done as a manipulation of his shift.
On the horzin, the other two vampires had already noticed the tension filling the air, and had also resume defensive positions...............
"I am hoping that we could become allies for the time being, and I will properly introduce myself. I am Jason Laexnaeder, the first shifter in this region. I am 17, and only began shifting about two months ago. I hope you can forgive me for shifting without warning, but the other vampires are getting to close for comfort, and i need to be ready for combat." As Jason said this, he slipped out of the backpack that was with him, a sabre. This was custom designed by a close friend, for him to grip in his paw when shifted. He also grabbed a consealed claymore from the coat he was wearing, straped that to his back. He looked at the femal vampire, and ask "Why were YOU out here anyway?? I would like to trust you, but there have been a seris of murders recently in the town, and they all have the same calling card, blood-drained bodies. Would you happen to know anything?"
And all this time, the male vampires were getting only closer, and moving down wind of the two in the glade.......................

Amara straightened, lifting her chin. This boy thought she would fight her own kind for him? A sneer marred her features. "Well, mister Jason. I am Amara Bane Genysis...and if you haven't noticed, I am a vampire. A wild vampire, I might add." She gave a little laugh. "You are right to consider a vampire for these deaths in your city, as it is probably one of us." She shrugged. "I must admit...the thrill of the kill is absolutely intoxicating. But don't worry, I'm not the one responsible. I don't kill when I feed. Although accidents do happen."
Amara did not elaborate on why she did not kill, but it definately brought the reason why to mind. She did not kill because she did not want to put anyone through what she went through. It was terrible to lose a family member, or a whole family, in such a tragic...terrible...method of death. This made her feeding habits quite...difficult. She couldn't bite them, in fear of turning them, so she was very unique in her way of feeding. That was most of the reason she had not joined a clan. Most killed when they fed.
Amara followed his gaze to the two vampires on the horizon. She was reluctant to fight her own kind, as she had told him before, but these two did not seem at all unprepared to fight her. Perhaps they didn't realize what she was. No. Even she could tell from the way they moved with such a fluid grace, and the invisible aura that flowed off of them was very obvious, and she knew the same was for her. Maybe she would help him.
Amara shifted her fluid gaze back to him. "What sort of trouble have you gotten yourself into that these two are after you? They appear to be stalking you. That means they want to kill you. Tell me why, and I might join you in defending yourself."

Jason gazed at the vampires upon the horzon.
"I think these are vampires that seek revenge for the newborns i killed ealier in my life as a shifter. That would not surprise me at all. And......I am new to this world of war. I think that this was their territory, or they thought it was theirs, before i came around." Jason sighed. He never liked combat, even though he was trained for it. And the smell of blood was getting close than he liked, and it smell far to familiar for his liking...so he went into beast mode for a moment. When he came out of it, he finally knew why the blood what so familiar. It was his house mates.......his family........
"Amara, they have killed my family. You may help me, or fight me, but I will not hurt you if I can help it. You look to much like my cousin, and my mother for another matter. But these two will perish my killing my family." With that, Jason fully shifted. He stoped all human thought other than the death of the two that killed his family, his pride. With that full instinct shift, he body also fully shifter, and got much bigger, to about 9 feet tall, and with even more muscle , and his eyes became the color of blood at dusk.
The two vampires had no idea what they were getting themselves into.......

Amara could smell the blood very clearly now. It was intoxicating. She was attempted to run towards it just for the fact that it might be a feed...but when he spoke...told her it was his family...she knew she couldn't. This boy...this shifter...had caused her no harm. She would not fight him. And if she would not fight him, she would have to fight the other vampires. There was no in between. She wasn't part of a clan anyway, so she couldn't possibly get in trouble for it.
Amara drew two daggers from her thighs. That was usually what she fought with, considering she didn't have her bow with her. She fought with traditional old-fashioned weapons most of the time, though she did carry a gun at times.
Amara darted to his side with an inhuman speed. "I'm warning you...these are not newborns. They are smarter than the ones you fought before. They are quicker and stronger than you just for the fact that they are vampire. Be careful...good luck." She said quickly. It wasn't fair to not warn him.
Amara spun the daggers in her hands, getting used to the feel before the battle. Vampires had killed her family as well...she would avenge Jason's loss as if it were her own.

The blood rage poured on. In the back of his mind he heared Amara warn him...."These are not newborns. They are smarter...." was all he managed to remember. He would kill these two monsters, and avenge the death of his family. But he knew he had an ally, so he also had to be careful not to hurt her with his mistakes. He charged, or feinted a chage. At the last possible second he leaped into the air, and at the time drew his claymore, to use the gravity and strength he had to destroy one of the vampires. When he came down, all he cut at was a phantom of it. He quickly retreated to a "safe distance" or a distance away where he might be able to react, and pulled himself together.
Jason needed to be clear headed, not implusive. He quickly got himself undercontrol, but maintained his fully shifted form. He was out for blood, and he was going to get it. He saw Amara with two daggers at the ready, and quickly found that he was happy that he did not have to fight her. The vampire he already tried to kill was completely gone, and he had no idea where he went, he could not even smell him, almost as if he was the very air around them.......
And so began the first battle of his life.........

Amara saw the vampire...and she could see how fast he moved. She knew the speed of a vampire, and she could track their movements. She could move just as fast. She darted forward, intercepting the vampire before he could move very far. She lashed out with her daggers, fighting the man with lightning quick speed.
"Jason...speed!" She screamed, still locked in combat. The man was clearly confused as Amara, another vampire, attacked him. She snarled, baring her sharp fangs.

Jason heared Amara yell to him something about speed, so he assumed that he would have to increase how fast he moved, or slow down time, which ever came first. The remaining vampire already figured out his advantage over Jason, and pressed forward, and remarkable speeds, but Jason had a thought. He stopped moving, and began to take some hits, moving jsut enough for them to not be lethal. He was watching, very closly to his attack patterns, and found the pattern. With strength, and power, that appeared to be beyond the vampired knowing, dealt a blow straight into the vampired midsection, that would have blown through any normal person, but broke ribs and ruptured organs for a vampire. This but a serious cramp in the vampires mobility, so Jason began a full series of attacks, but was cautious. He had no real idea what the vampire could really do.
In the back of his mind, his rage was trying to regain control of his actions, because it detected another smell about this vampire, one that resembled his little brothers, and that would really throw him off his game. So he kept himself undercontrol by covering up the smell of his brother, with his own blood. He futher reduce his combat abilities by wiping his own blood over his nose, in order to prevent him from smelling the blood of his brother, and family.
"I have grown weary with this fight," one of the vampires said pointedly,"I will depart." and he procceded to retreat, and with the same amount of speed he ealier possesed, but more clumsily, if a vampires could be anyless graceful.
"That was trying, but it is not over yet." Jason turned to Amara, to see if she needed help, but decieded to hold back until she really appered to need it. Thus he watched as the prowess of his momentary ally shown through with deadly grace.............

Amara's fangs were bared, and she let out a fierce hiss from her throat. She struck with her daggers, stabbing at the vampire's chest and face. She was fast, but he was just as fast. Both could almost predict the other's move before they actually acted.
"Why are you siding with the shifter?" The vampire shouted.
Amara lashed out, opening a long cut on his face. "Because you destroyed his family." Another slash, another cut. "And I am loyal to no one." She ducked his attack, dropped to the ground, and knocked his legs out from under him. She jumped on him before he had the chance to react. "And I don't like you very much." She snarled, preparing for the killing blow.
The male vampire screamed, kicking her with his powerful legs. He threw her off of him and then darted after his companion...a true coward.
Amara felt her ribs snap, felt her back slam against the tree. She cursed as the tree trunk cracked from the impact. Despite the pain, she rolled to the side before the tree fell, narrowly avoiding it falling on her. "That would have hurt." She said. She looked up at Jason. "Are you okay?" She called. She hadn't kept track of him during the fight.

"I will be fine Amara," Jason wheezed as he shifted back into human form,"I have taken some minor hits, but I will survive. Thank you. If not for you, I would have really died. I need some training, so that I can get stong enough to face two of them, with out help." Jason walked slowly, trying to get a feel of where he had cuts from the other vampire. And he found that he had no imediate threatening wounds.
But now was no longer the time for him to be selfish. He had to go home, and take care of his family, to even see if they were still alive, and since he could detect all of his family's scents, if any were still alive, he would have to kill them so they would not become his enemy. It pained him to even think about that, but he knew he had to, or he could take them far away, and leave them to change, and mature, so they can live normal lives in this town, to some degree. But what ever his solution was, he hoped it would be easy.
"Amara, I need to know the possibility that they may have left my famlily alive, just bitten, and turning." Jason asked solemnly, "I just.........." and he broke. He is only 17 years old, and just lost his family to something that did not exist in his world just two months back. Now he was alone, and his only solace, was in this strange vampire, that he knew nothing of.
Jason's tears were sweapt away by the blowing breeze...........
